Call to Artists - Be a part of MUSE 2014

MUSE is an annual show presented during EXPOSURE Festival by Calgary’s Studio 122. Divergent practices come together around the theme of “Muse”, with personal work by all the photographers exploring what inspires them.

What is MUSE?
Inspired by “The Muses” the inspirations of literature, science and the arts. Historically, the muses were considered the source of the knowledge for various artistic forms.

The main body of work for MUSE is primarily fine art photographs, showcased in the studio 122 gallery space.

This year, Studio 122 in partnership with Art House - All of us Together is seeking proposals from artists who would like to contribute non-photographic work to the MUSE show. Such work may include (but need not be limited to) projections, video, performance, installation, sculpture, dance, music, or fashion. The proposed work should relate or respond to the theme Muse. As we seek to engage with more than just the photographic community, artists may want to consider how their proposed work may contribute to this goal.

There is an event planned for opening night (Thursday, February 6th), and the show will then be open to the public from the 7th to the 20th of February. Proposals suitable to the opening event as well as during the run of the show will be considered.

-Deadline for submissions is Jan 5th 2014
